President Barzani meets Kirkuk officials

 

 

Salahaddin, Kurdistan Region (KRP.org) - Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani met today several Kurdish officials from Kirkuk to review and assess the security and political developments in the province.

This meeting, which was also attended by Kosrat Rasul Ali, the Vice President of the Kurdistan Region, comes following President Barzani’s return from a European tour that included visits to Italy, Germany, the UK and Brussels.

The participants unanimously reiterated that only the implementation of Article-140 of the Iraqi Constitution can resolve the status of Kirkuk.

Article-140 specifies three phases for implementation that includes normalization, a census, and a referendum on Kirkuk and other disputed areas.
